For this assignment in my Basics of Graphic Design course, I was tasked with creating a magazine spread for a favorite article, incorporating common features such as headlines, pull quotes, and negative space.

I chose a Wall Street Journal article on Tyler, the Creator, whose artistry has been a major source of inspiration for me. Published during the release of his album IGOR, the article inspired me to capture the era’s signature pink palette and the balance of elegance and whimsy found in his clothing brand, Golf le Fleur*, through pastel colors and delicate patterns.

I was pleased with the final result, earning a 90% and receiving praise from my professor for the piece’s creativity and effective use of graphics and typography. If I were to revisit the project, I would enlarge the body text and deepen the color palette to improve readability and accessibility.
