Hook Up or Down?

​For this project, Journalism 202 students were assigned to pick a topic they were passionate about that pertained to the Madison community and University of Wisconsin campus as a whole. I chose the topic of university hookup culture and how it affects LGBTQ students' perceptions on relationships. I felt that this topic is one that does not have a lot of research nor social discussions about it, so I wanted to see what I could find personally. With this topic, I completed three interviews, wrote feature pieces, utilized Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe Audition and InDesign to develop the main idea of my story. As the product, I created a website on WordPress (link to full project below) to showcase each item. Overall, my project gives audiences a look into not only the effects of university hookup culture on LGBTQ students, but advertise campus resources and sheds light on progressive concepts that can be implemented in our community.
